THE QUEER LIBRARY

The Queer Library is a speculative project created after researching queer theories. From the research, the understanding emerged that there is still a strong need to create safe and inclusive spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. The project is an imaginative proposal for the establishment of a library that collects and unites under one roof writers and poets who have engaged and written about their sexual identity.
In contrast to the aesthetics associated with queerness such as the pride flag and the colors of the rainbow, the inspiration for the design language stemmed from protest aesthetic and visuals of old queer fanzines.
At the core of the branding identity is the typographic language, which is diverse, changing, bold and striking, in order to represent a variety of identities, genders and sexual preferences.
